Minutes of meeting (MOM) of our last AGM 2021, Chennai


Annual General Body Meeting of the Indian Association of Physician Assistants conducted on 18.12.2021

Date December, 18th (Saturday) 2021
Venue: Madras Medical Mission, Mogappair, Chennai - 37
Time: 11:00 am

IAPA president Mr.R.Shivakumar, occupied the chair and welcomed the members present.


Since the required quorum was not present, the meeting has been adjourned to the next half an hour. The adjourned AGM was started by 11:30 am with the members present.


The Notice convening the meeting was read out approved.


The Minutes of the previous AGM was read out and confirmed.


The general body ratified the enrollment of 34 new members into the association.


The Audited Accounts of the Association for the financial year 2020-2021 was placed before the General Body and the same has been adopted unanimously by the members present after their scrutiny.


M/S Mukesh Mehta &Co, Chartered accountants, Chennai have been re-appointed as auditors of the Association till next AGM


Then in the General Body, the results of election to the vacant positions in the Executive Committee as per the Election Officer’s report was read out as follows:-


1.Mr.S.Veerappan – Senior Vice-President


2. Ms.A.Jamuna Priya-Ex.Com Member


Since there was only one nomination for both the posts, both of them were elected unopposed.


The Newly elected faces have been introduced to the General Body.

Mr..Shivakumar thanked the members for the success of IAPACON 2021 which was conducted virtually with participation of over 1000 delegates from around the world.


Mr. Shivakumar briefed the members about the steps taken by the association to get all the teaching institutions on board.


Mr. Shivakumar briefed the members about the gazette notification of the National commission of Allied & Healthcare Professionals and that of the Interim Commission


Mr.Shivakumar mentioned about the steps taken by the association to get Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburg fellowship to the cardiac surgery PAs.


Ms.Padma Raghavan insisted that all members should ensure participation in IAPA activities and enroll more PA graduates into the association.


Ms.Padma Raghavan requested members to share their experiences in newer areas in clinical practice.


Mr.Bharath Kumar spoke about his experience in AI.


Mr.Shivakumar requested those present to work for a Tamilnadu chapter at the earliest


Mr.Shivakumar thanked Mr.Radhakrishnan for his help in organising the meeting in Madras Medical Mission, Chennai.


The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Mr.Shivakumar
